The Guessing Game Resolution

Last month I made a list of all the songs on the (at the time) upcoming album "The Gods We Can Touch" by Aurora where I guessed the gods the songs had associations with. The album is out and here are the results!

1. The Forbidden Fruits of Eden
"In Hades there is forbidden fruit: the pomegranate. Persephone is my guess for this one."

  • My guess: Persephone
  • The Answer: Gaia

2. Everything Matters (Ft. Pomme)  (Unreleased)

"Hera?? Idk."

  • My guess: Hera
  • The Answer: Atlas

3. Giving In to the Love

"Eros??"

  • My guess: Eros
  • The Answer: Prometheus

4. Cure for Me

"My first instinct here was Hephaestus. A misunderstood god who spent most days in his forge away from people. He had a birth defect that made it very difficult for him to walk. Instead of getting a godly cure of sorts, he built a contraption to help him get around. He didn't want a cure, he wanted accommodations. Can you tell I relate to this guy?

'I run from the liars, the fuel on the fire/I know I created myself' This line seems to support that theory.

On second thought, the symbols in the music video do not seem to be reminiscent of him at all.

I rewatched the music video and the masks and many faces reminded me a lot of Hecate (the goddess of Magick and witchcraft and stuff). No idea about the apples though."

  • My guess: Hecate
  • The Answer: Panacea

5. You Keep Me Crawling (Unreleased)

"Maybe Hades? He always got the short end of the bargain."

  • My guess: Hades
  • The Answer: Persephone

6. Exist for Love

"The music video of this one makes me believe that this is the Aphrodite song out of all of the songs about love. There is pearl imagery and she sits in a shell, like the iconic painting of Venus."

  • My guess: Aphrodite
  • The Answer: Aphrodite

7. Heathens

"Hecate? She's certainly pagan, but who in mythology isn't?"

  • My guess: Hecate
  • The Answer: Persephone

8. The Innocent

"MAN I have a whole list of guesses. It could be Astraea, Persephone, Hebe, Hestia. I think I'll go with Hestia because of her tendency to protect."

  • My guess: Hestia
  • The Answer: Eros

9. Exhale Inhale

"My guess is Atlas. He can't get out of his position. All he can do is inhale and exhale. I can't think of anything else for now."

  • My guess: Atlas
  • The Answer: Oizys

10. A Temporary High

"First, I thought Dionysus, but I think a later song is for him. Then, I thought of Lethe. I'm not sure it's her because from what I remember, the effects of Lethe water are far from temporary. That's my best guess though so I'm sticking with Lethe. The water from the river of Lethe erases your memories and all truth of who you are. Probably a much-desired reprieve from someone painfully stuck inside themselves (a high of sorts)."

  • My guess: Lethe
  • The Answer: Chaos

11. A Dangerous Thing

"This one is so hard to figure out! What in Greek Mythology isn't dangerous? Prometheus is my best guess because he created human life and gave them fire resulting in his eternal punishment. He created something beautiful and gave them a gift even though he knew there would be consequences."

  • My guess: Prometheus
  • The Answer: Peitho

12. Artemis

"I'm gonna hope that this is an easy one and say it's literally just Artemis."

  • My guess: Artemis
  • The Answer: Artemis

13. Blood in the Wine

"I feel like this song is about Dionysus because he made wine out of his blood. His story of becoming a god is very sad so I feel like this song might be extra sad in its content."

  • My guess: Dionysus
  • The Answer: Dionysus

14. This Could Be a Dream

"My guess for this one is Morpheus. God of dreams. Just a guess! I may be taking it too much at face value."

  • My guess: Morpheus
  • The Answer: Morpheus

15. A Little Place Called the Moon

"Since Artemis was already one of the songs I'm gonna predict this song is Selene (the goddess of the moon before her). Maybe it will be a song about loss or about being forgotten."

  • My guess: Selene
  • The Answer: Astraeus
I got 4/15. But honestly, who cares? The album is incredible so I still feel like I won.
